Gaming Respawn Are Seeking Video Game Writers (169 views)

Here at Gaming Respawn, we love games and we love writing about games. We cover everything, from gleaming AAA titles to tiny indie projects that fly under the radar but push the boundaries, and publish news, features, reviews and opinion pieces to satisfy a rapidly growing audience of dedicated gamers.

If you want to join us, you’ll need to share our passion for all types of games, show fluent English writing skills, and be dedicated enough to contribute on a regular basis, In return, we offer the chance to be part of a small, friendly team of committed gamers, gain experience writing for an ambitious, rapidly-growing website, and receive expert feedback on what you produce. Oh, and you might get a few free games as well.

You’ll also have the opportunity to have your say on content ideas, create your own feature and editorial sections and get hands-on experience interacting with developers and publishers.

Whether that’s the latest blockbuster game to hit store shelves or an indie game which has flown under the radar but pushes the boundaries, we want to expose games for what they are, both good and bad.

At the moment, we’re particularly looking for people in the following areas:

NEWS WRITERS:

News writers need to be up-to-date on the latest gaming news, equally adept at adding their own spin to the big gaming developments and proactively finding interesting stories likely to appeal to our committed audience.

We also love to dig a little deeper, getting as much information as possible to produce informed, accurate, entertaining and insightful articles on games, hardware and industry developments.

If this sounds up your street and you’ve got the time and motivation to post news articles on a regular basis, then we’d love to hear from you.

REVIEWERS:

Reviews are a vital part of Gaming Respawn and we’re always looking for creative and talented writers eager to share their opinions on the latest releases. You’ll need to be adept at explaining just what it is that makes the best games truly great and examining why others fall short of the mark.

We’re looking for reviewers for all platforms and genres, and, with a bit of luck, you might even get a free review copy.

EDITORIALS/FEATURES:

Here at Gaming Respawn, we’re keen to give gamers a voice, so if you want to speak your mind on anything from game design to industry trends, this is your perfect platform. Whether it’s a controversial view that will get people talking or a detailed piece of game analysis, Gaming Respawn has already published a wide variety of features, editorials and opinion pieces, and we’re eager to find more opinionated and analytical writers. We’re basically open to any idea that won’t get us sued and offer experienced feedback to help you develop as a writer.

We’re also on the lookout for contributors to our Retro and Indie Spotlight sections, so if you’re obsessed with games of yesteryear or well and truly have your finger on the pulse when it comes to underground sensations, then get in touch. If you’re really keen and good at what you do, there are also editor positions available in these areas.

MEDIA:

The media section of Gaming Respawn is expanding rapidly and we’re currently looking for contributors to help drive the growth of our YouTube channel and podcast. Again, we offer a high level of creative freedom, but we’re particularly interested in people wanting to produce Let’s Plays, Video Reviews, News Roundups and quirky video features.

If you don’t have much experience in this area, don’t worry, we offer a supportive and friendly environment where you’ll be able to learn from more experienced heads and develop your skills. Equally, if you’re a seasoned YouTube and video veteran, then we offer a platform for you to show off your content with minimal interference.

HOW TO APPLY:

Send an email to stephenjackson[at]gamingrespawn.com stating what area or areas you’re particularly interested in, your experience thus far and a few samples of your writing or video content.
