I am Callum Marshall, and I’m the Managing Editor for Avid Interactive, which is a catch-all company for a portfolio of various gaming sites. We produce extremely varied gaming content with a focus on authenticity, digging into specific niches, and producing content that does more than scratch the surface of a topic. 

We have a total of 40+ gaming/enthusiast sites on our roster, and we also have 100+ other websites in other fields, meaning if you work with us, you may begin as a gaming writer, but have plenty of opportunities to branch out into other exciting niches. 

Above all, we see our writers as people, not drones we periodically burn out and replace. You work with us, not for us, and through this respect, collaboration, and unified creative process, we produce content that you can be proud to attach your name to. 

The Job Opportunity

We are in the market for experienced gaming writers who have experience working to meet tight deadlines, have a keen understanding of SEO, formatting, and the respective gaming niches you will be working with.

Plus, we are looking for someone who is a self-starter and can pitch topics, submit work, revise content if needed, and work on multiple tasks without any need for supervision. 

Naturally, training will be provided if necessary, but we aren’t in the business of hand-holding or micromanaging here.

Job Description 

Starting Rate: 0.03$ per word (30$ per 1,000 words) 

Main Websites You’ll Represent:Indie Game Culture,RPG Informer,Ready Game Survive

Minimum Articles Per Week: 5x Per Week 

Deadlines: One week for non-time critical work (Others will depend on embargo dates)

Pitching Required: Yes

Word Count Cap Per Article: 2500 max 

Article Briefs Provided: No (But an Editor is always available)

Types of Articles Needed: Reviews, Guides, Listicles

Payment Methods: Paypal, Upwork

Non-Negotiable Skills: Outstanding gaming knowledge, clear, succinct, and engaging writing style, understanding of WordPress, formatting and SEO basics relevant to the field of gaming, experience pitching topics

Desirable Skills: Keyword Optimization, VO experience, Video Editing Experience, Podcasting Experience, Canva/photoshop skills, Experience in Social Media Management
